How To Utilize Remote Start On Your New Subaru Ascent

July 11th, 2022 by

Whether you’re getting ready in the morning or leaving the office, the remote start feature of your new Subaru Ascent SUV can be incredibly beneficial when it’s too hot or cold outside. Using a key fob or mobile device to get a head start on the heating or cooling of your cabin, you’ll be able to enjoy a more tolerable experience when seasons change in Fountain. With years of experience in helping local drivers enjoy their new Subaru models, the team at Heuberger Subaru has put together a handy guide on how you can utilize remote smart on your Subaru Ascent.

Three Ways to Remote Start Your Ascent SUV

Before remote starting your Ascent SUV, you should always ensure it’s in an open area with proper ventilation. Enclosed spaces such as home garages and underground parking structures can trap carbon monoxide, an odorless and colorless gas that is incredibly harmful to humans and animals. Next, determine which remote start method your Subaru Ascent utilizes, as there are three different options depending on the model year.

Subaru Vehicle Key Fob

  1. While within range of the Ascent, click the ‘lock’ button on your Subaru key fob twice within two seconds.
  2. Press and hold the ‘lock’ button for three seconds to begin the engine startup procedure.
  3. The horn of your Ascent should honk once, the exterior lights will flash, and the engine will attempt to start.
  4. Once started, the engine will run for approximately 15 minutes before automatically shutting off.
  5. The Ascent will remain secure, requiring you to unlock the vehicle and switch the ignition to the ‘on’ position when you’re ready to drive away.

Remote Engine Starter Fob

  1. When within range of your Ascent, press the ‘start’ button twice within 3 seconds.
  2. When the engine startup procedure is initiated, the key fob will beep while the Ascent will honk once, flash its exterior lights, and attempt to start.
  3. If you’re too far away from your Subaru Ascent or the vehicle fails to start, the key fob light will illuminate with two long flashes.
  4. During this process, your vehicle will remain secure, requiring you to unlock the doors and press the start-stop button to begin driving.

MySubaru Smartphone Application
By using the MySubaru mobile app, you can enjoy quick access to remote start and climate control features when adventuring around Monument. Whether you’re at home or in the office, you can hold the engine start button in the application and adjust the temperature to your desired setting. Thanks to the available Subaru STARLINK system, you’ll be able to enjoy a more comfortable driving experience around Fort Carson from start to finish.
