Everything You Need to Know About the New Subaru Ascent in Colorado Springs

The Subaru Ascent is a midsize SUV built for family adventures. With flexible seating options, standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive and up to 5,000 pounds of towing capacity, your weekend getaways around Fort Carson will never be the same again.

The SUV's exterior features a sleek and sporty design profile that is appealing to the eye and very functional. LED headlights, elevated roof rails and huge, sweeping windows provide driving benefits such as improved visibility and flexibility and a touch of refinement.

Suppose you need more style on your driveway. In that case, the Ascent's Premium trim level is available with the Onyx Edition package, which features 20-inch wheels, black finishes throughout the exterior and a panoramic sunroof.

The Ascent is powered by a turbocharged 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine paired with a continuously variable automatic transmission (CVT) to deliver 260 horsepower. The CVT is acclaimed for its ability to function similarly to a standard automatic transmission, delivering smooth and swift shifts.

The standard Symmetrical All-Wheel Drive system enhances traction in rain, snow and on rough roads. It monitors acceleration, braking and cornering in real-time to ensure power is sent to all four-wheels. The Ascent is perfect for light off-roading thanks to the system and the SUV's 8.7-inches of ground clearance.

Furthermore, the suspension system performs an excellent job of smoothing out road bumps, resulting in a pleasant ride.

Interior & Technology

The Ascent's interior has all the perks of a big crossover with a higher driving position and flexible seating configurations. It has second-row bench seating for up to eight people or available captain's seats for seven people. The second-and third-row seats can be folded in various ways, allowing up to 75.6 cubic feet of cargo space.

STARLINK® Multimedia, which incorporates Apple CarPlay® and Android Auto™, is standard on the 2022 Ascent. An 8-inch touchscreen and a built-in and voice-activated navigation system are available. Wireless Bluetooth® pairing and hands-free smartphone operation make it possible to connect to your favorite apps seamlessly.
