Heuberger Plunges into a New Adventure with Special Olympics Colorado!
We weren’t busy enough. So we decided to add another non-profit partnership to our dance card! We’re very pleased to announce a new relationship with Special Olympics Colorado. Read on to learn how we are working to support the amazing work Special Olympics does in our communities.
Special Olympics
Founded in 1968, The Special Olympics’ mission is to provide year-round sports training and athletic competition in a variety of Olympic-type sports for children and adults with intellectual disabilities. Special Olympics gives them opportunities to develop physical fitness, show courage, experience joy and take part in a sharing of gifts, skills and friendship with their families, other Special Olympics athletes and the community.
Our Role
A personal investment of $50,000 from our owner, The Heubergers, has made it possible support Special Olympics this year. We’ll be participating in a series of events that Special Olympics Colorado is putting together this spring and summer.
Polar Plunges
Plunges may be one of the most visible actives you’ve seen Special Olympics showing off, though it’s far from the only activity they have going on. We are pleased to announce we’ll be attending three Colorado Polar Plunges (but supporting all them through our sponsorship). You should look for our team, The Heuberger Neck Warmers at all the events listed below! We have a “business in the front, party in the back”, theme! Our first event is this weekend, March 5th, at Washington Park in Denver. Several of our mullet-sporting employees will be dunking themselves in frigid water for the cause! We’ll have a booth as well, so if you’d like to swing by and talk Subaru, we’re happy to do that as well.
You’ll also find us at Pueblo Reservoir on March 11th and again in Colorado Springs at Rock Ledge Ranch on April 22nd. We’re excited not only to support the athletes and organization but raise funds through our team’s fundraising page. If you’d like to donate to our team, you can do so through the following link!

Plane Pull
One of the more interesting activities you can take part in is a plane pull. On a TBD date we’ll compete with other teams at the Colorado Springs airport to see how far our team can pull a Boeing 737 provided by Southwest Airlines. We can’t wait for this one! What a unique challenge.
Summer Classic
Also, this August we’ll attend the Colorado State Summer Classic at the Air Force Academy. Special Athletes will compete in track and field events, power lifting, gymnastics, soccer, and swimming. We’ll be on hand to cheer these athletes on and hand out some little goodies at our booth. You should come check it out!
This is our first year with Special Olympics so we’re very excited as a team to see what this new adventure is all about. As you can see, we’re going to be very busy but when you’re office is a beautiful spring day outdoors, you can’t complain right?
