Ultimate Camping Guide - Three Camp Cocktails

One luxury of car camping is the ability to bring ice and other supplies for making some top-shelf cocktails for your camping buddies to relax with at the end of day of hiking. Here are three for you to try out.

VODKA FORAGER

Muddle

Throw some raspberries and sugar in a mug or other container and muddle them with whatever utensils you have on hand

Booze

Add a shot of your favorite vodka (you brought the good stuff right?) as well as a splash of water to the muddled berries.

Pour

Pour the concoction through a strainer into a cup of ice. Stainless steel pint glasses or similar work great for cold camp cocktails.

Stir

Strip the bark from a ponderosa pine sprig and use it to stir the drink.

BLACKBERRY MINT JULEP

Muddle

As above, muddle berries and mint sprig with 1/2 Teaspoon of sugar in a tumbler or mug

Booze

Add a shot of bourbon and a slash of water. Stir.

Pour

You guessed it; pour mixture through a strainer into a cup of ice

Stir

Stir the drink with an extra mint sprig and leave it in the drink as garnish.

ADULT HOT COCOA

There are so many variations on this one but here’s what we do:

Boil

Start with boiling some water

Mix

Make normal hot cocoa by adding the boiling water to your favorite hot cocoa powder

Booze

Once well-mixed, add a shot of peppermint schnapps and stir it in.

The Magic Touch

Grab a clean twig or a bamboo skewer and perch a marshmallow over the rim of the mug.
